Prayer & Resources For our Friends and Neighbors
The Heavenly Father cares for us with order and mercy. So, as his sons and daughters, we’re compelled to do our best to embody both, too. That can be hard in times like these. We understand enforceable policies and a national border are necessary. But we also believe mercy is a friend to justice, not an enemy. A country can maintain national sovereignty and human dignity.
And so, with the many manifestations of federal immigration law and enforcement showing up in fresh ways in our city and neighborhoods, we wanted to take time for prayer and resourcing our community. Likely, you or someone you know has been directly affected, and we see you, hear you, and want to show up for you however we can. Please reach out to one of our leaders or see the resources below.
Here’s the prayer of lament we share with our congregation on Sunday, January 26th.
One of our members, Katherine Del Rosario, is the Executive Director of the Alliance for Immigrants. She’s shared their Partner Contact List to help with various needs, from citizenship pathways to legal counsel.
Our alderman has also shared helpful resources for local needs and connections.
