Gathering Update

A quick update for our Sunday Gathering.  We are asking that everyone over the age of two wear a face covering. This applies to those who have been fully vaccinated and those who are not fully vaccinated.

Our call is to live as Jesus did and love well our brothers & sisters, our neighbors & community, and our country & world. Since the beginning of the pandemic Church in the Square has sought to follow local, state, and federal guidance. Sometimes this means quickly shifting plans and there is a continual need for abounding grace.

On Tuesday the CDC released new guidance for those who are fully vaccinated. This guidance states “To maximize protection from the Delta variant and prevent possibly spreading it to others, wear a mask indoors in public if you are in an area of substantial or high transmission.” Shortly after both Governor Pritzker and Mayor Lightfoot, along with the Illinois Department of Public Health reaffirmed that Illinois and specifically Chicago would follow the CDC’s new guidance.

Cook County has ‘substantial’ transmission therefore we will require masks while at the gathering until we receive new guidance or transmission lowers.

As always, please let us know if you have needs, questions or concerns! We are in this together.
